This research aims to describe the principal's leadership and how professionals are used at SMP PAB 21 Pematang Johar to foster teacher professionalism. To collect data in this research, qualitative descriptive methods were used which included observation, documentation and interviews. Those involved in this research were the principal, deputy principal, teachers and other staff members who took part in this research. Research conclusions include the following: 1) Principal leadership in fostering teacher professionalism. Here are some of the principal's responsibilities: Effective communication, working relationships or collaboration, and responsibility. 2) The professionalism of PAB 21 Pematang Johar Middle School teachers is being developed. The role of teacher professionalism includes: Learning methodology, program evaluation, and in-depth mastery of educational resources are part of a teacher's professional responsibilities. However, some teachers lack commitment; examples include failure to prepare teaching materials or equipment, being late to class, missing class or being prevented from attending class, and failing to use teaching resources. However, in principle, the principal always tries to solve this problem at a personal level by offering guidance, providing rewards, incentives and punishments as well as effective communication. Then, to provide quality and productive learning, provide direction and opportunities for instructors to demonstrate their skills in carrying out their professional teaching obligations.
