Kurikulum Merdeka di Sekolah Penggerak: Sumbangan Kepemimpinan Transformasional Kepala Sekolah dan Budaya Sekolah Terhadap Kinerja Guru tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP)

Abstract

Teacher performance in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum involves various activities such as lesson planning, teaching implementation, and assessment. In the context of this research, the transformational leadership of the school principal and school culture play crucial roles in supporting teacher performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of transformational leadership by the school principal and school culture on teacher performance in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. This research adopts a descriptive correlational quantitative approach, utilizing a saturated sampling technique by distributing questionnaires to 119 teachers from seven schools. The data analysis is conducted using IBM SPSS 25 and SmartPLS 3.0 software with the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The findings of this study indicate that (1) transformational leadership of the school principal has a positive but non-significant (non-influential) effect on teacher performance in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum; (2) school culture has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum; (3) transformational leadership of the school principal and school culture collectively and significantly contribute 42.4% to teacher performance in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, while the remaining 57.6% is influenced by other variables beyond the scope of this research.
