The main objective of research to describe about (1) a principal strategy in building relationships with the community school, (2) the preparation of the program of school relationships with the community, (3) obstacles faced in developing relationships the public, and (4) the principal efforts in developing community participation. This research used the qualitative approach with multisite study. Place the study in SDN Tunjungsekar 5 and Ketawanggede SDN. Data collection techniques with in-depth interviews, observation and documentation and participation. Meanwhile, to analyze the data using three stages of reduction, display, and conclusion. The results of this research are (1) the principal strategy in building relationships with community schools include communication with the community, building partners of cooperation and openness of information, (2) preparation program relationship with community schools involves the school principal, teachers, and employees/ TU which is then approved by the school Committee, (3) obstacles faced in developing school public relations namely the community and parents are passive, the flurry of each party, behind the economy and less familiar, and (4) the principal efforts in developing public participation that is, communication with the school Committee, community, parents and class associations
