The research identifies specific leadership behaviors perceived as most significant by teachers and analyzes their impact on teacher well-being, motivation, and professional commitment in Indonesian secondary education contexts. The study employed a descriptive phenomenological design with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with one experienced secondary school teacher using purposive sampling. Analysis utilized Braun and Clarke's six-phase thematic analysis approach, with ATLAS.ti version 23 software facilitates systematic coding and pattern visualization. Four major themes emerged: (1) Personal Care and Attention, reflecting servant leadership through regular evaluation and crisis support; (2) Authority Delegation and Trust, demonstrating distributive leadership with structured guidance; (3) Teacher Professional Development, through weekly dissemination programs and classroom observation; and (4) Transformational Leadership, involving meaningful vision formulation, participation and multichannel communication. However, bidirectional collaborative learning between principals and teachers showed limitations. This study provides the first empirical evidence of multi-dimensional leadership integration in Indonesian secondary school contexts, advancing knowledge by demonstrating how Western leadership theories adapt within non-Western cultural frameworks. It introduces teachers' voices as a primary data source, offering insider perspectives often neglected in leadership studies and revealing authentic distributive leadership implementation challenges within hierarchical cultures. Findings inform principal training program development and educational policy formulation regarding competency standards and performance evaluation systems in Indonesian secondary education.

Keywords: educational leadership, transformational leadership, instructional leadership, distributive leadership, servant leadership
Safwandi Safwandi, Aan Komariah, Eka Prihatin Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4537 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Analysis of the Role of Job Satisfaction in Improving the Performance of Educators at SMK Maarif NU 2 Karanglewas https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4539
Abstract: This study aims to analyze in depth the role of job satisfaction in improving the performance of educators at SMK Maarif NU 2
Karanglewas. The urgency of this research is based on the fact that the quality of education is highly influenced by teachers’ professionalism, which is inseparable from their psychological condition and satisfaction in carrying out their duties. Job satisfaction is one of the key factors that can affect teachers’ enthusiasm, responsibility, and the quality of educational services provided to students. Therefore, this research seeks to explain how the level of teachers’ job satisfaction contributes to their performance in conducting the teaching and learning process. This study employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto correlational design to determine the direction and magnitude of the contribution of job satisfaction toward improving teacher performance. The research population consisted of 60 teachers, all of whom were selected using a saturated sampling technique. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire (1–5) that had passed both construct validity and reliability testing, ensuring accurate data collection. The results revealed that job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, contributing 38%, while the remaining 62% is influenced by other factors such as work environment, workload, facility availability, and managerial support. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the higher the level of job satisfaction experienced by teachers, the better their performance in the learning process. Therefore, schools need to pay attention to aspects such as welfare, career development, and a conducive work climate to maintain and improve teachers’ job satisfaction sustainably.
Rahmadini Mulya Aisah, Astuti Astuti, Prisilia Mutiara Sari, Eli Indriastuti, Suparjo Suparjo Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4539 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Transformation of APHP SMK Baitul Izza Students from the Classroom to the Industrial World https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4542
Abstract: This study aims to identify internship experiences as a means of developing hard and soft skills competencies among students of the Agribusiness of Agricultural Product Processing (APHP) expertise program at SMK Baitul Izza. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving three twelfth-grade APHP students, one internship coordinator, one internship supervising teacher, and one industry mentor as the primary informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that internship activities contribute to the development of students’ technical competencies (hard skills). Students were able to apply theoretical knowledge acquired at school to industrial practice, master the use of modern tools and materials, and implement occupational health and safety (OHS) principles. In addition, internships also enhance non-technical competencies (soft skills), such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork, interpersonal communication, and adaptability to professional work environments. Overall, internships function as an effective form of contextual learning that bridges the gap between the educational environment and the industrial world. Through direct workplace experience, students not only become more proficient technically but also develop strong work character and readiness to compete in the labor market. Therefore, the implementation of internships at SMK Baitul Izza has proven to make a significant contribution to achieving the goals of vocational education—producing competent, professional, and competitive graduates in the modern industrial era.
Wihardana Jannati, Didik Nurhadi, Yoto Yoto Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4542 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Teachers' Perceptions of Islamic Leadership Values Implementation in Secondary Schools During Management Reform https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4543
Abstract: This phenomenological study explored teacher perceptions of Islamic leadership values implementation in Islamic-based
secondary schools (MTS) during management reform. Research involved ten teachers from three MTS in Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews (60-90 minutes) and analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis with ATLAS.ti software. The study examined five key dimensions: exemplary leadership (qudwah hasanah), interpersonal relations
(ukhuwah Islamiyah), participatory decision-making (shura), management reform effectiveness, and teacher competency development. Findings reveal that teachers perceive Islamic leadership as a holistic integration of spiritual and operational dimensions.
Notably, management reform synergizes with Islamic values when implemented gradually with cultural sensitivity, enhancing both
operational efficiency and spiritual purposes (dakwah and tarbiyah). Teacher development integrates formal training with mentoring and peer support, fostering simultaneous professional competency and spiritual growth. This issue is important to explore because the increasing presence of women in strategic positions within Islamic educational institutions is not always accompanied by a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of their leadership styles. Teacher performance and loyalty in many schools are often hindered by weak communication, limited appreciation, and the lack of teacher involvement in decision-making. Therefore, a leadership style that is participatory, inspirational, and grounded in Islamic values is needed to create a harmonious work culture. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The study revealed three major findings: (1) the moral and spiritual exemplary behavior of female leaders fosters a collaborative culture and strengthens teacher trust; (2) empowerment through consultation and active participation enhances professional commitment; and (3) the integration of Islamic values such as amanah (trustworthiness), musyawarah (consultation), and rahmah (compassion) serves as an ethical foundation that nurtures teachers’ emotional loyalty toward the institution. Transformational leadership practiced by women not only improves the quality of teacher performance but also cultivates a humanistic and sustainable Islamic organizational culture. These findings contribute theoretically by expanding transformational leadership theory within the context of Islamic education and offer practical recommendations for madrasahs to adopt leadership models rooted in spirituality, exemplary conduct, and empowerment.
Rahmadini Mulya Aisah, Muh. This study aims to describe the implementation of digital literacy integration within curriculum management in Elementary Schools, as well as to identify its challenges. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this case study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Condongcatur. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of the vice head of curriculum, digital literacy coordinator, and class teachers. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then thematically analyzed. The research findings show that digital literacy integration is implemented comprehensively across every aspect of curriculum management: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. This proactive implementation positively correlates with an increase in learning quality, characterized by students who are more literate in information, media, and technology, as well as more interactive learning. Nevertheless, the main challenges found are the need for continuous technology adaptation for teachers and infrastructure constraints. This study concludes that an adaptive curriculum management strategy for digital literacy is proven to be effective, but requires holistic support from human resources and facilities.
Yuni Tri Widya Ningrum, Dian Hidayati, Suyatno Suyatno Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4545 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 School Management Information System as a Solution for Digitizing Administration and Student Monitoring https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4546
Abstract: The acceleration of digitization in education has driven the need for systems that can effectively and efficiently manage school administration and student monitoring. This study examines the implementation of the School Management Information System (SIMS) pro.jurnale.id as a solution for the digitalization of administration and student monitoring at SMAN 1 Boyolangu. This case study employs a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods to evaluate the main functions of SIMS in supporting administrative processes and monitoring student development. The results indicate that the system is most frequently used in modules such as teacher and student attendance, master data management, curriculum management, and correspondence handled by administrative staff. SIMS facilitates faster data input, increases accuracy, simplifies report generation, and significantly reduces paper usage. Student monitoring has also become more effective through features like real-time attendance, daily assessments, violation records, and parent communication facilitated through homeroom teachers and guidance counselors as intermediaries. However, the study identifies several challenges, including user adaptation difficulties to new technology, network infrastructure limitations, and features that are not yet fully optimized. The researchers recommend enhanced training for teachers and staff, the development of more comprehensive features, and intensive socialization to increase parental engagement in using the system. This study provides important insights into the benefits and obstacles of digitalizing school management, serving as a foundation for developing better educational information systems in the future.
Aris Defiana, Yoto Yoto, Didik Nurhadi Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4546 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Student Organizations on the Improvement of the Tridharma of Higher Education Students of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4558
Abstract: Student organizations are one of the important forums in supporting the non formal learning process in higher education. These conditions indicate that character building cannot be achieved through normative learning alone, but requires planned, systematic,
and continuous student management. This study aims to examine in depth student management in the formation of honest and socially caring character at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Semarang. The main issue of this study is the suboptimal internalization of the values of honesty and social caring in students' actual behavior even though these values have been integrated into
the curriculum and school culture. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects include the principal, classroom teachers, Islamic Education teachers, and parents. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model with
triangulation of sources and time to maintain data validity. The research focus was directed at planning, implementation, the role of teachers and the school environment, as well as mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating student character. The results of the study show that student management at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Semarang is carried out in an integrated manner through
planning based on the values of honesty and social awareness, daily habits such as character control books, cooperative learning, Friday infaq programs, and teacher role models. The school environment and parental involvement also strengthen the internalization of character values, so that students not only
understand the values of honesty and social awareness cognitively, but also feel them affectively and practice them in their daily lives. This study concludes that consciously and consistently designed student management plays an important role in shaping honest and socially aware character in elementary school students. Therefore, it is recommended that schools strengthen the synergy between student management planning, teacher role modeling, and parental involvement, as well as develop reflective and continuous character evaluation to ensure that character values are fully internalized in students.
Keywords: Student Character, Honesty, Social Awareness, Elementary School
Kirana Rahmadita, Abdul Wahid Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4746 Mon, 02 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Education Marketing Strategy Based on the 4P Marketing Mix Through the Use of Social Media at MA NU 03 Sunan Katong Kaliwungu https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4795
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 4P (product, price, place, promotion) marketing mix strategy through the use of social media in MA NU 03 Sunan Katong Kaliwungu and evaluate its effectiveness in increasing interest and number of registrants in the midst of the transformation of digitalbased education promotion in the context of private madrasas. The research uses a qualitative approach with case studies. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consisted of SPMB Coordinators, social media managers, teachers involved in promotion, and students. Data analysis from Miles Hubraman's analysis is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the 4P strategy has been implemented in an integrated manner through social media with an emphasis on differentiation of NU-an identity and modern facilities (product), quota-based incentive promotion (price), multiplatform information distribution, especially Instagram and TikTok (place), and eventbased content planning (promotion). This strategy is effective in increasing brand awareness and promotion cost efficiency, but it has not yet become a dominant factor in applicant conversion because decisions are still influenced by the level of digital literacy of students' parents. These findings underscore the importance of an integrated communication strategy that integrates digital promotion and community relations in education marketing, and has implications for the need to optimize interactive content and strengthen social networks. Many previous researchers have focused on studies showing that teachers’ professional competencies are influenced by various contextual factors, particularly within the school environment where learning takes place. However, previous studies have examined these various variables separately and in isolation. This limitation inevitably creates a gap in understanding regarding the relationships and interconnections among the factors influencing teachers’ professional competencies. Research findings have also not been integrated and are still presented in a fragmented manner. This study provides a comprehensive explanation and information regarding the factors influencing the professional competencies of elementary school teachers. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of five empirical articles published between 2020 and 2026. The five articles were selected because they met the inclusion and exclusion criteria used in the article requirements. The analysis process included the stages of article selection, data extraction, and thematic coding. Thematic coding was performed using open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The synthesis results indicate that the professional competence of elementary school teachers is influenced by five main factors: principal leadership, continuous professional development, a collaborative and reflective school culture, academic supervision, and the implementation of curriculum and instructional policies. These findings emphasize that efforts to improve teachers’ professional competence must be carried out comprehensively and require sustained support from the school ecosystem in order to enhance the quality of learning.Future research may analyze a larger number of articles with a broader scope so that the findings can more accurately reflect real conditions. The development of research using different analytical models can also be conducted to examine the factors influencing teachers’ professional competence in a more comprehensive manner.
Iis Kurniasih, Hanung Sudibyo Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Manajemen dan Supervisi Pendidikan https://journal-fip.um.ac.id/index.php/jmsp/article/view/4813 Sun, 30 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000
