Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the family environment on adolescent self-confidence at MAN 2 Muaro Jambi. Adolescence is an important phase marked by physical, psychological, and social changes, where self-confidence is one of the crucial aspects in individual development. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, involving 137 respondents from grades X and XI selected through a stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a closed questionnaire that had been validated and tested for reliability, then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results showed that the quality of education in the family was in the good category (78%), while the level of adolescent self-confidence was in the high category (85%). The simple regression analysis produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which indicated a positive and significant influence between education in the family on adolescent self-confidence. The contribution of family education to self-confidence was 12.2% (R² = 0.122), while the rest was influenced by other factors. These findings emphasize the important role of the family, especially parents, in shaping adolescents' self-confidence through positive parenting, communication, and emotional support.
